I Like it in the Trunk!

Soo...every girl has gotten the message on Facebook about updating your status, and saying where you put your purse(sexual innuendo). Well...for my essentials, I like mine in the trunk! lol. Have you ever spilled coffee on your clothes, broken a heel, ripped a shirt, lost an earring, etc??? Well me being the clumsy fashionista I am, I am prone to all of these things. I have to always be prepared, and have things that are essential to me on standby. I say essentials "for me" because everyone is different, so you have to think about all the situations and obstacles you are most likely to run into....and pack accordingly.

Depending on the size of the bag that I am carrying on a daily basis, I may keep some of these items in my purse. The other bulky items I keep in my trunk hehe! Inside my bag are:

  • Lip Gloss: Champagne, Pink, and a Clear colored one. I never know what I may encounter and who I may meet, so I am always ready to switch it up to be more conservative or to take it up a notch for a more fashionable appearance(sometimes I even mix them up!).
  • Nail File: I wear natural nails...and I absolutely hate to have uneven nails or to have broken nails!
  • Deodorant: Some days you sweat more, so either be prepared or smell like you have been playing outside for hours lol.
  • Wipes: Don't just put on the deodorant without washing your armpits first...really??? You can even use this to freshen up other areas if you have to go straight from work to an event or to the mall.
  • Undergarments: enough said!
  • Outfit: I always keep a change of clothes and shoes....I am super clumsy and I like to be prepared.
  • Sunglasses
  • Perfume
  • Mirror
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Gum
  • Makeup
  • Stain Remover

Whatever the case may be...or whatever you may need, just make sure you have it. How can you take over the world if your lips are dry and you have a coffee stain on your blouse???

Nails Are Accessories Too!

When you think of accessories, you think of earrings, necklaces, belts, and bags....but what about nails??? You may be all put together, but when you hand someone something...or sign important papers...or shake someones hand...what do they think about your nail color?

According to sallybeauty.com , they tell what your favorite colors say about you:

BLUE: You’re enthusiastic and spontaneous. You can be disorganized, but your impulsive side is cherished by all who know you. Work for calmness and serenity, and find new ways to bring out the creativity hiding inside you.

GREEN: You’re ambitious and inspired by excellence. You can be tough on yourself and very picky, but others are inspired by your high standards. Stop sweating the small stuff, and reach inside for that confidence to make a life-changing decision.

ORANGE: You’re a take-charge personality with a big heart. Your generous nature can be taxing, but your friends know they can count on you. Do whatever it takes to bring calm to your topsy-turvy life. A brief respite will make you feel powerful enough to handle anything.

PURPLE: You’re a deep thinker with an eye for beauty. You sometimes seem closed off and even a mystery, but you really do love companionship. It’s time to pamper yourself and then take off to release the wild side you never knew you had.

RED: You’re a fun-loving extrovert with a passion for fashion! You desire success, but your fear of change can prevent you from seizing important opportunities. Time to go shopping for a smart new outfit that makes you ready to lead the world

BROWN: You’re wise beyond your years, even though you think you still have a lot to learn! You care about other people so much that you forget it’s okay to pamper yourself every now and then. Slow down and savor the sweet things in life, including a fun-filled evening with an old friend.

Just like the pieces you wear are different colors, shapes, and styles, do the same thing with your nails. Dare to be different. Let your nails be just as fab as the outfit you have on. Just remember, nails are accessories too!!

To be or to not be...THRIFTY!

Ok....so who has shopped at a thrift store before? I must say that I am very into thrift shopping. It could be my absolute favroite place in the world, Shoppe 31:30, and even the Goodwill or any second hand store I may find. Some people think that it is nasty to wear other peoples old clothes, but if you find things that are in good condition, and can be cleaned, why not? You forget that when you buy clothes from the store, 9 times out of 10, someone has already tried that piece of clothing on already(HA!).

I always find awesome jewelry, shoes, dresses, tops, the list goes on. The coolest thing about buying thrifty...chances are no one has it. The style of the piece may be out of season, but you can always updae it by taking it to a seamstress and have her take it in or shorten it.

So besides finding pieces that no one else may have, you save money, which is one of the things I am working on(don't judge me! lol).

300 is a big number!

Resolutions....Really?

How many times have we made New Year's Resolutions, and either gave up or forgot the resolution all together? *raises both hands* Year after year, I have made these resolutions with every intention of being successful, but something happens. I either lose focus and am unable to stay motivated towards the resolutions. So this year, I decided I needed to do something completely different. There is a saying that goes "to get something you never had, you have to do things you have never done". How can I possibly make my dreams and goals a reality? What could possibly give me the drive and force to make constant progress? The answer is a VISION BOARD!

A vision board is basically a collection of pictures that you cut from magazines and put onto the board. Seeing is believing, so with pictures of where you want to be, what you want to become, things you want to buy, this board makes you work harder to attain those things. I have had my vision board up since January 2nd, and it really motivates me on a daily basis. Sometimes I find myself sitting and staring at it, because although these are just clippings, this will eventually be a reality. By working hard and staying motivated, the sky is the limit!!
